Description:

Under the direction of NYC Department of Education, an expert level programmer is required for this position due to the complex and older system code of a legal based system (IHS) with SQL, Visual Studio, Cognos, SSIS and daily file transfers between NYC and NYS; as well as NYCDOE financial departments. Legal procedural actions/ events and outcomes are captured in this system, and the delivery of special education services to students can be impacted. System analysis, system design, development, reengineering, testing and support of new, revised and historical code are the major responsibilities of this crucial position.

Designing and developing multi-tier client server and web based applications using advanced Microsoft. NET Architecture framework

Managing requirements gathering and analysis

Analyzing requirements and data access needs and proposing file and screen designs

Designing SSIS packages and Data Transformations

Coding new objects (programs) to meet requirements.

Student Data Processing interface with mainframe systems and Operational Data Store

Designing and developing reports.

Implementing security using the .NET Security Model and Active Directory for web applications.

Conducting QA testing

Designing and developing Web Services

Upgrading of Systems

Reviewing of production database records often required
