Phase I of this project will be a discovery phase to review our current installation and compare it against industry best practices.
The Contractor will be responsible for documenting the current configuration and how it meets, exceeds or compares to recognized industry standards. As part of Phase I the Contractor will be responsible for recommending and documenting any recommended changes to better comply with current industry standards.
NCDA&CSs current hardware configuration utilizes: VMware Essentials Plus (vMotion, vCenter Server, vSphere and others), Window Operating Systems (OS), RedHat Linux OS, MS SSQL server on a NetApp SAN.
The selected candidate responsibilities include:- Configuration, Deploy, and management of VMware vSphere, which consists of VMware ESXi and VMware vCenter Server, vCenter Server appliance, ESXi networking, virtual machines- Migrate virtual machines with VMware vSphere vMotion- Manage vSphere infrastructure with VMware vSphere Web Client and VMware vSphere Client- Migrate virtual machines using VMware vSphere Storage vMotion- Manage access control using vCenter Server- Monitor resource usage using vCenter Server- Manage VMware vSphere High Availability, VMware vSphere Fault Tolerance, and VMware vSphere- Review Data Protection using vCenter Server- Apply patches using VMware vSphere Update Manager- Conduct discovery phase which includes reviewing the Departments VMware installation.- Security policy implementation, Timesync, DNS, monitoring, etc.- Assist with implementing designed environment and assist with testing the environment.
Complete documentation of all work done including design plans, configurations, and knowledge transfer to IT staff.- Work with IT Staff to make and document any recommended changes.
Review our Disaster Recover (DR) Planning and write a proposal for a phase II project Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements:-
Must be a certified VMWare 5.5 engineer.- Must be certified Cisco CCNA Routing and Switching.
Must be certified MCSE in Microsoft Server 2012/2008 Server Infrastructure- Extensive knowledge and experience with VMware and vMotion- Extensive knowledge and experience in an enterprise active directory (AD) environment.- Extensive experience with NetApps (snap mirror, snap vault, OSSV, de-duplication, raid DP).- supporting an active directory 2008/2012 infrastructure.-
Experience with various types of installations to Windows 2008/2012 AD forests.- Extensive experience with NetApps (snap mirror, snap vault, OSSV, de-duplication, raid DP).- Any familiar with Redhat Enterprise Linux, is a plus- Extensive knowledge and experience with Microsoft SQL 2005 to 2008; including configuration, industry best practices for disk to disk backups and disaster recovery.- Must have extensive experience with configuring, installing, troubleshooting, and managing Avaya/Nortel/Netgear/Dell/Cisco and VMWare virtual switches._x000D_
