Database Administrator is responsible for data analysis and database management.
The Mainframe DB2 Administrator is responsible for installation and configuration, testing, debugging, patching, direct technical vendor interactions, performance tuning, and backup and recovery.
Database Administrators have a range of skills and knowledge of the utilities and production tools used for data storage management to support the application teams. _ _ This position also supports IBM\\\'s InfoSphere CDC and Rocket Software's Shadow zDirect and zServices middleware.
DB2 for z/OS technical proficiency should be classified as Advanced to Expert._ _ Position will require off-hours availability for on-call support, and change implementation during the bi-weekly weekend maintenance window. _ _ Highly skilled at database design, installations, conversions._ _ Responsible for database backup and recovery procedures, access security and database integrity, physical data storage design, and performance tuning._ _ Familiarity with database replication tools and concepts._ _ Communicate effectively within a team of IT professionals and vendors._ Work independently on assigned tasks and meet deadlines._ _ Provide status of work to Project Team Lead._ _ Engage in ongoing process improvement._ _ Ability to adhere to client processes and procedures, notably Change Control and Incident Management._
