Job Function:Develops profitable purchasing strategies and supplier relationships by strategic sourcing of materials, equipment or supplies.  

Essential Functions: Commodity Based; Multiple New Supplier Discovery (Analysis/Negotiations) Quoting - cost efficiencies Quality metrics Lead times Delivery criteria Warranty – 

Peace of Mind compliance Conducts market research, plans and executes vendor visitations, and attends trade shows. Provides a resource to all planners. Manages relationships with key suppliers. Locates sources for new parts, features or options. 

 

Assists and leads negotiations with potential suppliers and vendors. Makes assessments of, and recommendations to quality and capabilities of potential vendors. Maintains awareness of current market trends. Anticipates and resolves potential problems. Manages projects as assigned and follow through to completion in timely manner. Travel required, 40%-60%. Perform additional duties as assigned or required by the position.  

Qualifications/Requirements: 

Must possess a bachelor's degree or minimum of six years of proven experience in a senior sourcing role of a manufacturing facility. APICS or Purchasing certifications beneficial. Developed understanding of business risk analysis and implementation with regards to procurement. Demonstrable experience in negotiating prices, terms and conditions, quality factors, and needs. Demonstrable experience in conducting market research and using a variety of tools to locate potential sources. A strong analytical mindset and outstanding organizational skills. Comfortable speaking in front of large or small groups. Basic understanding of project management principles. Knowledge of data analysis and purchasing best practices including maintaining confidentiality of privileged information. Knowledge of principles and methods of transportation of moving goods by air, rail, sea or road, including the relative costs and benefits for both domestic and international purchases. Excellent communication skills in both verbal and written format. 

 

Working knowledge of MS Office and MRP/ERP business software.  1. Bachelor's degree or minimum of six years of proven experience in a senior sourcing role of a manufacturing facility. 2.
