Reporting to the VP of Technical Services, the New Product Development Engineer is responsible for development, engineering, testing, qualification, validation, and implementation of new product and packaging projects that meet consumer requirements, functional parameters, safety standards, cost targets, and manufacturing/shipping requirements and contract manufacturing sources.
Responsibilities
Working closely with Marketing in translating consumer insights and strategies into new and improved product ideas, formulations, and packaging_ Interact directly with all departments on a cross-functional basis to lead the companys product development process
Develop and manage new product timelines_
Support contract manufacturing sites with manufacturing and quality systems expertise Investigate new product technical issues and deviations from standard operating procedures and contract manufacturing sources and assist in resolutions _ Administer qualification/validation activities for internal and contract manufacturing tech transfers, product improvements, and product innovations_
Collect and assemble technical documentation in support of product technical files, design history files, and product registration files.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Sciences (Chemistry, Engineering, Biology)
5 years of technical project supervision experience, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry_ 5 years of pharmaceutical operations management or supervisory experience_ Experience in key process technologies, including sterile ophthalmics, topicals, and solid dosages (capsules) manufacturing_ Experience with MS Excel, MS Project, and other project management software_ Personal Attributes_ Effective communication skills, both written and verbal_ Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to inspire and lead internal and contract manufacturing teams
Demonstration of a proactive and resourceful approach to project management_ Meticulous attention to detail and timeliness of project delivery_ Ability to successfully multitask and manage large, complex workloads
Strong business acumen and influence skills_ Challenger mindset _ Willingness and ability to travel
