Consistently promote such areas as on-time pickup and delivery, superior equipment, professional drivers, responsive Customer Service and accurate invoicing.
Professionally represent the company while prospecting, qualifying and calling on potential accounts that match our service abilities, operational objectives and financial goals.
Develop a thorough understanding of each customer's transportation needs by penetrating multiple levels of an organization. This includes knowing the daily points of contact in dispatch, operations, accounts payable, sales, and transportation management along with knowing the hours of operation, specific shipment handling requirements, service expectations, volumes, lanes, and payment abilities. Each additional contact enhances company's relationship with the customer.
Create thorough contractually based pricing proposals and renew current customer's contracts, prior to expiration, based on your evaluation of the customer's business relative to expectations.
Physically present each contract and discuss each item of the contract with each customer prior to obtaining a signature or moving a shipment.
Maintain daily communication with associated Territory Account Manager to evaluate freight and equipment balances, customer service opportunities, lane targets and pricing objectives.
Work closely with the Inside Marketing Department, specifically Inside Sales and Business Development to identify and evaluate new prospective, profitable opportunities.
Work with Accounts Receivable Department to assist in collection efforts and other receivable issues.
Prepare a weekly agenda in CRM to accomplish the following Weekly Sales Goals: 20 Sales Calls, 5 Entertainment's and 5 Proposals.
Arrange 2 multiple (5 or more) customer events annually.
On a daily basis enter all customer contact notes and information and future appointments in CRM. 13. Follow up on all Sales leads within 1 week.
Interpret quarterly regional business review reports detailing region performance versus goals related to LOH, RPLM, RPTM, Revenue, empty miles, new customers and improved customers. Has contact with the following documents: AS400 Operations and Sales Force.com customer files.
Qualification Requirements: as follows: Education and/or Experience:
2 years of sales and customer service experience in transportation or logistics is required. Special Training: Must be familiar with computer programs such as Microsoft Excel and Word, Innovative, and AS400. Special Skills: Must be able to speak clearly and concisely to a large group of people.
Listening skills are crucial, as well as the ability to deal with high-pressure situations.
