Description: State of New York: Department of Health, Division of Nutrition Division of Nutrition (DON) Projects  The Division of Nutrition relies heavily on custom software applications in order to effectively and efficiently support many nutritional programs, including: Women, Infant, and Children Food Nutritional Program (WIC) Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP) Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP)

A project manager is needed to manage the planning, design and implementation of new software applications as well as enhancements to existing software applications, to support the needs and goals of the Division and its stakeholders. Primary focus will be on the planning and implementation of mandated system enhancements to the WICSIS (WIC Statewide Information System) application which supports the WIC program for New York State.  

Implement a project management strategy that effectively addresses scope, schedule, cost, quality, risks, resources, communication, and all other aspects of effective project management Utilize project management software and application lifecycle management software such as MS Project Work closely with both the application development leads and program staff, maintaining effective communication with both technical and non-technical staff Facilitate meetings, schedule events, and oversee the completion, review, and acceptance of project deliverables Direct and manage project execution, perform effective change control, and perform effective monitoring and control for projects Effectively monitor, track, and address issues and risks Prepare status reports, and other summary and project reports as required or requested  

 

60 months of experience in a project manager role on large and small scale client-facing software development projects.

60 months of experience in documenting, managing and communicating project scope, and participating in requirements management.

60 months of experience in tracking, managing and communicating issues and risks.

60 months of experience in scheduling and tracking projects using automated tools including Microsoft Project.

60 months of experience in facilitating and managing communication across stakeholder groups including program management staff and technical service management staff. 36 months of experience in defining quality control processes and metrics.

12 months of experience in managing public sector government IT projects. Project Manager Professional (PMP) Certification

Bachelors Degree (A copy of the degree must be submitted with the Candidate Response Form.)
