The Challenge

We are hiring an Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Investigator to join our Office of Civil Rights team.

 

In this role, you will:

  • Perform professional, analytical, consultative, investigative, and advisory EEO work in the application of State and federal discrimination laws and policies and the interpretation and application of policies and guidelines.
  • Monitor and provide guidance on federal and State laws, policies, and regulations related to the prohibition of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation in employment on the basis of race, color, national origin, gender, religion, age, disabling condition, genetic information or political affiliation.
  • Investigate complaints and charges of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation.
  • Assist with consultation, training, and onsite reviews.
  • Serve as a principal administrative advisor.
  • Review, analyze, monitor, and make recommendations regarding personnel practices relating to employees and applicants.
  • Work independently and with direct access to our EEO Manager.
  • Manage EEO investigations.

 

What You Bring

  • Demonstrated ability to conduct EEO investigations using effective interview skills and extensive knowledge of the elements of proof for discrimination, harassment, and retaliation.
  • Demonstrated ability to determine and apply appropriate legal standard from EEO laws, regulations, policies and case precedents.
  • Writing skills and experience composing clear, concise, and professionally written EEO investigative reports and legal analysis.
  • Communications skills to communicate with business units and management staff making recommendations regarding personnel practices, training, and onsite reviews.
  • Computer skills to access data from online systems, such as SAP, Beacon, NeoGov, PeopleSoft, Banner, and other information systems.

 

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or relevant field, and
  • 2+ years of relevant HR experience; or
  • High School/GED Diploma, and
  • 5+ years of relevant HR experience; or
  •  
  • The equivalent combination or education and experience.
