Interview Type: Phone followed by in-person_ 24 Months experience reviewing and analyzing code and data for the purpose of reverse-engineering legacy software systems as well as the ability to write queries, perform data analysis, validation, and mapping.
48 Months facilitating JAD sessions, conducting stakeholder interviews, focus groups and workshops and then analyzing the stakeholders business needs and converting those into functional requirements.
48 Months experience in business requirements management including requirements documentation, analysis, validation, and change management.
48 Months experience in performing business process modeling, gap analysis, process improvement or re-engineering on medium to large-scale IT projects, describing the and to-be business processes. Note: Medium-scale projects are defined as 100-800 Use Cases; Large Scale over 800 Use Cases.
48 Months experience in writing use cases/user stories, business requirement document (BRD), software requirement specification (SRS), business rules, traceability matrix, and work flow diagrams, or other business or system requirements artifacts._
This request is in support of the Department of Labors (DOLs) UISIm (Unemployment Insurance Service Improvement) project.
This resource is needed to act as business analyst to gather/document requirements for applications hosted by the NYS Department of Taxation and Finance but are part of the NYS Department of Labors mission critical applications for Unemployment Insurance.
The UISIm project is a multi-year program effort to redesign, test and implement business process improvements for the Department of Labors customers, partners and internal staff. Business process improvements will be made by satisfying the following project goals and functional objectives: operational improvement, program integrity, systems integration. UISIm will replace the 40+ year old Unemployment Insurance (UI) legacy computer systems and manual procedures with a new and improved integrated computer system._ Daily tasks will include but are not limited to the following:
1. Lead requirements gathering sessions with NYS Labor Dept staff and NYS Tax & Finance staff as necessary to document enhancements to existing NYS Tax & Finance and NYS Department of Labor systems_
2. Work as a liaison among stakeholders in order to elicit, analyze, communicate and validate the requirements for changes to current business processes, policies and information systems and for the development of new business process, policies and information systems.
3. Document requirements using process models, use cases and other artifacts according to project artifact guidelines._
4. Coordinate use cases, process flows and other industry standard business requirements documentation with other requirements teams for seamless process flows and system design._ _
5. Follow the projects package preparation guidelines and utilize templates provided by project manager._
6. Interact with cross-functional teams (subject matter experts, developers, architects and database) and staff to ensure requirements are thoroughly and accurately documented and to design and document recommendations for improved business processes that enable the organization to achieve its goals.
7. Provide a weekly status report to Lead Business Analyst in the format specified, including issues and risks._
8. Store documentation in Microsoft SharePoint and IBM Rational ClearCase as per the package preparation guidelines.
