Schedule -Weekend availability -Monday to Friday Benefits -Health insurance -Paid time off -Dental insurance -401(k) -Vision insurance -Flexible schedule -Referral program -Employee discount Job Duties and Responsibilities The Childcare Provider position has the following responsibilities and duties:* -Supervise and monitor the safety of children -Prepare and organize mealtimes and snacks for children -Help children keep good hygiene -Change the diapers of infants and toddlers -Assist children, individually or in groups, with lesson projects and homework. -Organize activities or implement a curriculum that allows children to learn about the world and explore their interests -Develop schedules and routines to ensure that children have enough physical activity, rest, and playtime. -Watch for signs of emotional or developmental problems in children and bring potential problems to the attention of parents or guardians -Maintain excellent verbal and written communication with parents/guardians and Team ELM Administrators. -Transport children to activities like swimming lessons and sports practices. Required Qualifications The Childcare Provider should have the following skills, education, and experience:* -High School Diploma or equivalent -Willing to train but must have experience working with children. -Must be responsible, reliable, and flexible. -Must be willing to drive. -Must be at least 17 years old. -Education The following educational qualifications are preferred, but not required:* -Associate degree in early childhood development -Bachelor degree in psychology or education -Various reputable childcare/child development certifications -Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Preferred if the candidate has the following skills or abilities:* -Teamwork -Interpersonal skills -Open-minded about cultural diversity -Possesses the ability to keep children engaged and under control -Demonstrates excellent communication and organizational skills as well as the ability to manage time and multi-task effectively. -Possesses the ability to make sound judgments as well as strong decision-making skills. Preferred Qualifications Team ELM has the following preferred, but not required, qualifications:* -Someone with knowledge/background in speech therapy, the medical field, education, early child development, and similar -Good references -Pediatric and/or Adult CPR and First Aid certification (if not, Team ELM can provide that opportunity) -Training on prevention of disease Working Conditions Consider the following working conditions: -Essential physical requirements, such as standing, walking, and running -Working environment - mostly private households -Washes hands frequently throughout the day, especially after each diaper change, after helping a child in the bathroom, and before serving lunch or snacks. -May need to be capable of lifting small children/babies, bending and picking up toys, reaching high shelves, and sitting on the floor to play games throughout the day. -May experience a certain level of noise at times during the day -May be required to work weekends, nights, or be on-call as a regular part of the job. -May need to travel an average of 30 minutes -May work long or irregular hours to fit parents work schedules -May work evening and overnight care to meet the needs of families -May need to travel to various locations (if comfortable) |
